Everyday Habits

Last on, first off: Put jewellery on after applying perfume, lotion, make-up and hairspray, and take it off first at the end of the day.

Remove before activity: Take pieces off before swimming, cleaning, exercising or sleeping to protect stones and settings.

Avoid harsh chemicals: Keep jewellery away from chlorine, bleach and household cleaners, which can dull gold and damage gemstones.
Cleaning at Home
For most gold and gem-set pieces, a gentle clean restores sparkle:

Soak the piece for a few minutes in warm water with a little mild dish soap.

Lift away dirt with a soft brush, working gently behind and around the stone where dust collects.

Rinse in clean water and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Please avoid ultrasonic cleaners on coloured or included stones, as vibration can affect more delicate gemstones.
Caring for Different Metals & Stones

Gold (18K and 22K): Durable for everyday wear, though like all precious metal it can pick up fine surface scratches over time. A soft cloth keeps it bright between cleans.

Diamonds: Hard-wearing and brilliant. Clean regularly, as diamonds attract oils that can dull their sparkle.

Sapphires & rubies: Very durable (9 on the Mohs hardness scale) and well suited to daily wear, though settings should still be checked periodically.

Coloured & softer gemstones: Stones such as tsavorite, aquamarine, spinel, tourmaline and topaz are a little softer. Handle with extra care, store separately and avoid knocks.
Storing Your Jewellery

Store each piece separately in a soft-lined jewellery box or pouch so harder stones do not scratch softer ones.
